“Strawberries that in gardens grow are plump and juicy fine.
But sweeter far as wise men know, spring from the woodland vive.
No need for bowl or silver spoon, sugar or spice or cream.
Has the wild berry plucked in June besides the trickling steam.
One such to melt at the tongue’s root, confounding taste with scent.
Beats a full peck of garden fruit: Which points my argument.”
Sónia and Diogo from the The Healthy Sins not only share a home, but also a passion for Food. They love cooking, eating and dreaming of everything there is to try and create. Based on that dream, they created their Blog. One of their sins is creating delicious cocktails. In collaboration with Libbey, the talented couple created the Strawberry Basil Mojito.
Excited to try this mouthwatering Strawberry Basil Mojito yourself? You’ve come to the right place. Here is the recipe:
Wash, hull, and roughly chop the strawberries.
Add the berries and basil leaves to a medium bowl, and muddle them together using a fork, or use a large mortar and pestle.
Divide the berry mixture into two Libbey Carats Coolers. Fill the glass halfway with ice.
Pour the rum and maple syrup over the ice and then fill the glass with tonic water.
Stir, taste, and add more simple syrup if desired. Garnish with a slice of lime and more fresh basil and strawberries. Top off your drinks with more tonic water as needed.
