GIN & TONIC, FRESH AND CLASSIC

GIN & TONIC, FRESH AND CLASSIC

Gin is a type of spirit characterized by the flavor of juniper berries. Gin makers produce gin by infusing neutral spirit with botanical ingredients during the distillation process. Together with the perfect tonic water makes it one of the freshest and preferred summer drinks.

As you might know, you can find in the market a great variety of gins, all types of garnishes and the options for glassware are even more comprehensive.

For this fresh and classic Gin & Tonic we have chosen Libbey SPKSY and the Joya Gin & Tonic stemware. Libbey SPKSY for a more luxury feeling with its rounded bowl and the elegant stem, Libbey Joya Gin & Tonic for a more informal moment in all its minimalism! Both bowl shapes allow the wonderful aromas of the drink to be released, adding extra flavor to the drinking experience.

What do you need?

150 ml Tonic water

50 ml London Dry gin

Clear ice

A twist of lime peel

Garnish: two slides of cucumber or redcurrants

INSTRUCTION FOR MAKING THE COCKTAIL

STEP 1

Add a large quantity of clear ice. The more ice you add, the slower it will melt and dilute your drink.

STEP 2

The key to a perfect Gin & Tonic recipe is to balance the bitterness of the tonic against the gin. So, on top of the ice, pour a measure of gin followed by three times as much tonic water.

STEP 3

Peel off a stripe of limetwist it over the top of the glass for the oils to be releasedCut two slices of cucumber and drop them into the glass. It then takes four stirsno moreno less!

STEP 4

As an alternative to the cucumber, you can use two or three cloves or a sprig of redcurrants. All of them go really well with Gin & Tonic.

We suggest you enjoy it directly from the glass, not with a straw so that you get the total flavor experience.

Cheers! 🍹

STRAWBERRY SINS

 STRAWBERRY SINS

“Strawberries that in gardens grow are plump and juicy fine.
But sweeter far as wise men know, spring from the woodland vive.
No need for bowl or silver spoon, sugar or spice or cream.
Has the wild berry plucked in June besides the trickling steam.
One such to melt at the tongue’s root, confounding taste with scent.
Beats a full peck of garden fruit: Which points my argument.”

The Healthy Sins

Sónia and Diogo from the The Healthy Sins not only share a home, but also a passion for Food. They love cooking, eating and dreaming of everything there is to try and create. Based on that dream, they created their Blog. One of their sins is creating delicious cocktails. In collaboration with Libbey, the talented couple created the Strawberry Basil Mojito.

LIBBEY x REBOTTLED

LIBBEY x REBOTTLED CELEBRATING UPCYCLED GLASS AND ONE YEAR OF GREEN COOPERATION

The story of a strong partnership in the circular economy road began one year ago when Libbey Holland joined hands with Rebottleda circular start-up that creates sustainable glassware from used wine bottles. Libbey Holland supports and contributes to these efforts by providing technical assistance and know-how.

Out of this partnership, 81.000 used wine bottles were repurposed and transformed into sustainable drinking glasses, which share this circular story at every table.

In the ramp-up of the year, Libbey Holland helped its young scale-up partner to produce a new product extension for Rebottled, a whisky tumbler range.

“It is an amazing experience to develop and bring new life to used products such as wine bottles; it is motivating and brings energy to all of us at the factory in Holland,” says Marco van ValburgVP Engineering Libbey EMEA. “In the production process, the pre-cleaned bottles are cut at the required capacity by a high-power laser. To give them a flawless and smooth rim, safe for consumer use, the glasses are fire polished. After this process, what used to be a bottle of wine is now a trendy drink glass.”

Libbey is proving that providing great and on-trend products that turn our every moment into a special one, doesn’t have to be at the expense of the environment or consumers. Libbey has been transforming its business practices in a way that helps to protect our environment, while also helping breathe new life into products once thought to be waste.

Interested in Rebottled products? These can be found online and in the Dutch retail chains such as the De Bijenkorf and Gall & Gall.
