Will you create the world’s next iconic glass?

Choosing the perfect glass is just as important as the drink being served. For the third time, Libbey is challenging bar professionals around the world to create the next iconic glass, a timeless creation enhancing the drinking experience.

The Glassology Design Contest is back for its third edition and it is expanding globally to the Americas. They will join Europe, South Africa, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand to make history by creating the next iconic cocktail glass. Libbey is challenging bar professionals to create the next classic that bartenders won’t be able to live without.

Robert Schinkel and Yochen Verbeeck, former Glassology winners, designed the unique ‘Tulip Punch Bowl’ and ‘The Gats’ glass, setting the standards higher than ever for this year’s contestants.

In March, the Glassology by Libbey Design Contest will begin with online submissions. Registrations will be accepted until May 31st. In June the semi-finalists will be announced, and the bartenders chosen will receive expert guidance to hone their designs and understand the glass making process. In November, during the Athens Bar Show in Greece, six finalists will take the stage with the chance to win and have their glass design taken into production and sold globally.

The 2020 panel of judges is one of a kind. It gathers some of the best experts from different areas of the industry: Simon Difford, Tara Garnel, Dean Callan, Eddie Rudzinskas, together with the winner of the second edition, Yochen Verbeeck and glassware expert, Nairi Mehrabi, Marketing Director Libbey EMEA. They will decide who will be crowned the 2020 Glassology winner.

The Glassology Facebook community provides bar professionals and masters with an online space of like-minded individuals. The community is a place where they learn, connect, inspire one another and stay updated on the contest and all about Libbey.

Cheers to rare experiences!
